Mairead O'Brien trained with the Rose Fearon
School of Irish Dancing in Toronto, for fifteen years before moving
to Vancouver and joining the Comerford School. She competed at the
Canadian, North American, and World Championships winning and achieving high
placements at all three levels of competition. As well as competition,
Mairead also performed with various artists and has choreographed for local
stage shows and films. |

Mairead began her teaching career in 1995 as an
instructor with the Comerford School in Vancouver. After becoming
certified (T.C.R.G.), she opened her own school in Victoria and later opened the
Duncan and Nanaimo locations. Mairead continues to teach classes and workshops such as
Celtfest, co-chairs the
Victoria Feis (dancing competition)
held each year, and keeps busy with her own three children.
